Shoes

Ink on Paper

2014

Since visiting Tate in London, I was inspired by Lisa Milroy's Shoes (1985) and started sketching several different angles of shoes, bags, and accessories that represent the means of consumption. This diptych was produced by experimenting with splashes and linoleum imprints of acrylic and ink on paper. I played with the idea of chaos and consumption bby pressing different textures found through torn cardboard, lace dollies, and scratched up plastic sheets.
